This project began as a diagnostic assessment focused on moisture-related issues affecting the wallboard behind the shower and deteriorating grout lines. Our initial objective was to address these surface concerns and refresh the overall functionality of the bathroom space.
Upon closer inspection, we identified the need to update the aging iron drainage system and address the underlying plumbing components. We also determined that the toilet base required attention to ensure a secure, water-tight seal, moving beyond simple cosmetic fixes to ensure the long-term integrity of the room.
The Challenger
The challenge was to resolve these hidden concerns while completely rehabilitating the shower area. We prioritized long-term performance by replacing the damaged wallboard and addressing all moisture-sensitive areas behind the tile. We executed a full shower rebuild within the existing 36×36 footprint, installing upgraded plumbing, a high-quality shower kit, and a functional 12×12 niche, all while professionally re-installing the existing cabinetry and toilet to maximize the client’s budget.
The Result
The end result is a high-value renovation that balances the warm, organic texture of the 12×48 bamboo-style tiles with the preserved character of the original vanity and fixtures. The bathroom is now visually refreshed and inviting, but most importantly, it is reliable and moisture-protected for years to come.
